Many problems that come into play within digital PR develop from the perspective that these campaigns do not do a good job of being able to be relatable to a large population of people. These campaigns also are not dynamic and flexible making it difficult to adjust when necessary for the campaign.
My belief is that there needs to be a strong focus on the fundamentals of a strategic communications campaign. The PR practitioners need to have a well-written out plan to adjust for logistical issues. These PR campaigns also need to expand on the ROSTIR format(shown below) and include the diversity wheel. The diversity wheel involves paying attention to all the possible factors within diversity that can have an effect on a digital public relations campaign. It seems essential to pay attention to logistical issues of the campaign as well as consider the effects posts could have on the population seeing it.
In today’s day and age, it is very difficult to get the media interested enough in a campaign to determine it worthwhile to bring attention to the campaign. Another issue that comes into play is the fact that both users and the algorithm operate in the ‘hard to get mode’. To solve a lot of the issues you need to“craft your messages carefully; make them personal, relatable, valuable, and meaningful. Make sure your social media style is flexible and honest”.
